| ...to have turbo-induced fun! Suburban Chicago is lots of 45-55mph roads with stoplights, with some 30mph roads and stop signs as minor roads. Inter-suburb travel is freeway...going 85 mph usually. So it is hard to split a tank of gas into "city" and "highway"...it is mostly in-between with chunks of highway. My usual attempt at economy is to watch the boost gauge and keep it as far to the left as possible with driving style. That really didn't make much of a difference as near as I can tell from the spreadsheet. On the way back from WI by the way, I was a complete jerk much of the time. Traffic is SO frustrating between IL and WI (and between IL and IN when I go that way). I was weaving, boosting, and trying to get through clots of traffic. I was also trying to avoid making people too angry with me and mostly succeeded...mostly. Back in WI I also lost an impromtu street race with an old Shelby Mustang...my poor drag skills contributed to that loss. Anyway, my point is that I didn't drive like some kind of goody-goody to get the 27.7 mpg.
